Coronavirus, known as COVID-19, is a novel virus, spread person-to-person by contact with respiratory droplets, physical contact, and/or contact with virus-contaminated surfaces. Millions of people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 worldwide with thousands of virus-related deaths. While symptoms can range from mild to severe, healthcare workers and the patients that they care for in the healthcare setting are at high risk for being exposed to COVID-19.
Having a comprehensive understanding of not only the virus, but also how it is spread and how to reduce the risk of transmission in the radiology setting is imperative for radiology care professionals.
